FAAM provides on-site First Aid and Wound Care to unhoused individuals in the SFV, Hollywood, and MacArthur Park. We do not diagnose or provide medical treatment and we are not licensed medical providers. First Aid is not a substitute for medical care. By accepting assistance, individuals acknowledge this is basic first aid only.
In addition to funding this ourselves, we partner with Community Health Project for our First Aid and safe use supplies.
The following are conditions we can provide First Aid for.
Cuts and scrapes that do not require stitches
Cuts and scrapes unaccompanied by fever
Minor burns
Blisters
Splinters
Heat exhaustion / Sunburn
Insect bites and stings
Basic first aid while waiting for emergency services
Sores, ulcers, rashes
Suspected Overdose. IF you suspect someone has overdosed and they are not responsive, call 911 and request emergency services immediately.
Broken bones
Concussions
Heavy or uncontrolled cuts
Heart problems
Strokes/Seizures
Medication needs (we provide no medication)
Difficulty breathing
Infection, Severe infection as indicated by swelling, fever, delirium
Severe pain
Uncontrolled vomiting or diarrhea
Eye injuries
Unconsciousness
